Court and Livery Luncheon

The Master invites all Tylers and Bricklayers to attend a Court and Livery Luncheon at Watermen’s Hall, 16-18 St Mary at Hill, London EC3R 8EF on Thursday 1 September. This will be the final formal function of the Master’s year.

Earlier this year the Company joined the Livery Climate Action Group. In line with this excellent City initiative, and for the first time in the Company’s history, the lunch will be vegetarian, and all ingredients will be grown or sourced in the United Kingdom. The menu has been tasted by the Master and Clerk and is delicious!

Watermen’s Hall is an elegant Georgian building. The Hall dates to 1780 when the Watermen moved to this purpose-built site.

The Principal Guest and Speaker will be General Sir James Everard KCB CBE. General Sir James had a long and distinguished career, seeing action in Bosnia and Iraq and finally serving as NATO’s Deputy Supreme Commander Europe until 2020 when he retired from the Army.  He is President of ABF the Soldiers’ Charity, the Army’s national charity, which the Company has supported for several years through the Lord Mayor’s Big Curry Lunch.

We will commence with a Reception at 12.40pm for lunch at 1.00pm.

This luncheon is priced at £95 per person.  Partners and guests are most welcome, and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Applications for tickets can be here or to the Clerk by no later than Friday 19 August. Cancellations after this date cannot be refunded.  Applications should include full payment and the names of your guests.

The dress code will be Lounge Suit with Tie. Livery Badges should be worn. Carriages should be booked for 3.00pm.
