Pattern prepared, from a full size drawing, to mark out the wedge shaped voussoirs in readiness for cutting; usually made from ply-wood or zinc the Templet is made to project beyond the inner and outer curves so that adjustments can be made. To ensure its precise shape and size it is stepped round the drawing (see Traversing) making sure of the position of the key brick.
