Plinth Brick
Definition:

A facing brick with a 45 deg. chamfer on the stretcher and header faces used to reduce the thickness of a plinth by 56mm (quarter brick) per course. A number of plinth courses may be needed to reduce the plinth to the thickness required for the main wall (the neat work). Care must be taken to ensure the correct bonding of the plinth. Available as specials such as; external and internal angles; external squint returns, and internal obtuse angles.
