Used when building walls that are circular on plan. When the first one or two courses have been set out (see Trammel) points are selected around the curve to position the Lead Bricks. These are laid first, as each course is built, to control the plumbing (or batter) and the level of the work; the curved walling between these points is checked by means of an external or internal template.
