Square, rectangular and multi-angle shaped material produced fromrefined clays and calcined flint, subsequently fired at high temperatures. Can be extruded in a plastic state or dry pressed and glazed or unglazed. Required characteristics are set out in BS EN14411. A key characteristic is water absorption and Group B1a sets the highest standard at <0.5%.
