United Guilds Service & lunch

United Guilds Service & lunch The United Guilds Service will take place this year on Friday 15 March. This is a beautiful service sung by the Cathedral Choir, and one of the major civic occasions of the year. The service was first held in 1943 as a coordinated response to the challenges faced by the City during the Blitz and has been held every year since. Now, as in 1943, it is attended by the Lord Mayor and the Sheriffs with all Livery Companies represented by their Masters in their gowns and badges of office. The Preacher this year will be the Very Reverend Andrew Tremlett, Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral The Company has been allocated a limited number of reserved places for the Officers and further unreserved seats for members of the Company and their guests. Admission to the service is free and by ticket only. Everyone is required to be seated by 10.45 and the service will start at 11.15 am. Applications for tickets should be made to the Clerk by no later than Friday 1 March. Members of the Company and their guests, whether attending St Paul’s or not, are invited to join the Carpenters’ Company at their Hall for an informal buffet luncheon following the service. This is an excellent opportunity to meet with colleagues from the Company and with fellow Liverymen from the Carpenters and other Companies. This lunch is being organised on behalf of the Company by WCTB Events Ltd.The price of the lunch is £ 72.00 per person and includes a reception, a 2-course seated buffet meal with wine, followed by coffee and handmade chocolates. The dress code is lounge suits with tie.
