The Worshipful Company of Tylers and Bricklayers encourages excellence in the tiling and bricklaying industries and has awards for outstanding tiling and brickwork, as well as for individuals training for NVQs and higher qualifications in the craft.
As part of its charitable work, the Company launched in 2023 a new Craft Bursary Scheme which is designed to provide financial support to deserving persons throughout the UK who are undertaking an approved form of craft training. If selected as a beneficiary of the scheme, the successful candidates will each receive an award in the sum of £1,000. Full details and an application form can be found here.
The Company makes a number of awards as part of its historic commitment to encouraging the very highest levels of craftsmanship in bricklaying, roof slating and tiling and hard-surface wall and floor tiling with the Triennial Awards honouring the best examples in buildings completed within the previous three years inside the area bounded by the M25.

On the 9th March 2024, the Company held its annual Craft Awards at Goldsmith's Hall and has recently participated in the Livery Schools Careers Event at the Guildhall
As one of the ancient Livery Companies of the City of London, numbered 37 in the order of precedence, it has an active charitable, educational and social programme.
The Company received its first Royal Charter in 1568, although its roots go back to the fifteenth century, and its Livery (membership) currently stands at approximately one hundred and fifty.
