The Master and members of the Worshipful Company of Tylers and Bricklayers and their guests attended the Annual United Guilds Service on Friday 20th of March 2026.

 

 
 
 

 

This is an opportunity for all Livery Companies to gather for a colourful service at St Pauls Cathedral. It is a special service to mark the work of the 113 Livery Companies in the City of London where a beautiful service is sung by the Cathedral Choir, and is now one of the grand civic occasions of the year.

 

 

The service was first held in 1943 as a coordinated response to the challenges faced by the City during the Blitz and has been held every year since. Now, as in 1943, it is attended by the Lord Mayor and the Sheriffs with all Livery Companies represented by their Masters in their gowns and badges of office making for a very colourful event!

 

 

The Master Tyler and Bricklayer is invited to take part in the procession in which of course, being the 37th Livery Company in order of prescedence, we consider an honour and one that our company is always ready to take up!

 

 

Other members of the Company and their guests joined the Carpenters’ Company and other construction livery companies, at their Hall for an informal buffet luncheon following the service. This is always an excellent opportunity to meet with colleagues from the Company and with fellow Liverymen from the Carpenters and other Companies within the construction group.
